Sherna Spencer’s roots spring from the island of Jamaica. Her love of books and language began in a Parish library located in Manchester, Jamaica.
After moving to the U.S., she attended Le Moyne College in upstate New York, where she later obtained a Bachelors degree with dual majors in English and Spanish. During her time in law school, she studied in Italy and thereafter completed her degree at the University of Miami School of Law. She is currently an attorney in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
For nine years, she was the host of a live radio program centering on issues relating to immigration and nationality law. The program was broadcast to listeners in South Florida and the Bahamas.

This is Ms. Spencer's first book of poetry. The book has been dedicated to "all the immigrants who have touched [her] life and in whose life [she has] made a difference." The leading poem in the collection is titled, "You Are America."
